Dear Patients and Family,

After more than four decades of practicing ophthalmology in Dallas, I have made the decision to step back from direct patient care, effective September 18, 2026. This is a moment I have thought about carefully. I leave grateful for the work, proud of what we built, and confident that you will be in excellent hands.

Caring for you and your families has been the great privilege of my professional life. I have known many of you for years — some for decades — and those relationships are the thing I will carry with me most. Eye care is intimate work. You trusted me with your vision, and that is not something I take lightly. Thank you.

I will remain connected to the practice in a senior advisory capacity during this transition. I am also looking forward to a new collaboration with UT Southwestern Medical Center on a telemedicine initiative focused on expanding access to expert eye care across our region — work that feels like a natural extension of everything I have done here.

Most importantly, I want you to know that your care remains in exceptional hands. Drs. Susan Swanson, Sarah Mirza, and Curtis Brown are outstanding physicians — clinically excellent, genuinely caring, and deeply committed to the standard of care this practice was built on. I have given them my full confidence, and I give them yours.

Your records will remain with the practice, and no action is required on your part unless you have an upcoming appointment or pending follow-up. Our team will be in touch to help make this transition as smooth as possible, and you are always welcome to call the office with any questions.
